
Homemade Apple Crisp

Ingredients
- For the apple filling:
- 4 cups sliced Honeycrisp apples, unpeeled (1/4″ thick)
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch Kosher salt
- For the crisp topping:
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed
- Large pinch Kosher salt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a 9″ cast iron skillet or 8×8″ baking dish.
- Toss apples, lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt in a large bowl. Place in dish.
- In another bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, and salt until crumbly.
- Evenly distribute crisp topping over apples.
- Bake 30 min, or until apples are fork tender and topping is deep golden brown.
- Serve hot with ice cream or whipped cream.
Tips for Meal prep
Prep filling and topping separately for up to 24 hours; bake fresh before serving.
Store leftovers in fridge, reheating in oven to restore crispness.
