
Crispy Air-Fried Bang Bang Chicken

- For the Chicken:
- 1 1/2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into strips (680 g)
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs (60 g)
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour (60 g)
- 2 large eggs, beaten (100 g)
- 1 tsp garlic powder (3 g)
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (2 g)
- 1/2 tsp salt (3 g)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper (1 g)
- Olive oil spray
- For the Bang Bang Sauce:
- 1/2 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt or light mayonnaise (120 g)
- 3 tbsp sweet chili sauce (45 ml)
- 1 tbsp sriracha (15 ml)
- 1 tsp honey (7 g)
- Juice of 1/2 lime (15 ml)
- For Serving:
- 4 cups mixed greens (120 g)
- 1 red bell pepper, diced (120 g)
- 2 green onions, sliced (20 g)
Directions
- Prep Chicken: Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Set up three bowls: one with flour mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper; one with beaten eggs; one with panko breadcrumbs.
- Coat Chicken: Dredge chicken strips in flour, dip in egg, then coat with panko. Lightly spray with olive oil spray.
- Air Fry: Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Make Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt (or light mayo), sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth.
- Assemble Bowl: Place mixed greens and diced bell pepper in bowls. Top with crispy chicken strips, drizzle with bang bang sauce, and garnish with green onions. Serve extra sauce on the side.
